Work experience is a vital part of your BTEC Health and Social Care course. It is a core requirement from the universities for all Health and Social Care courses. Employers also expect you to be able to discuss your experiences at interviews for jobs and apprenticeships.
To achieve the highest grades in BTEC courses, you must apply the theory to real-life situations and work experience enables you to do this with confidence.
Work experience and volunteering must be completed in your free periods, weekends or holidays. It is not college policy for you to take time off college to attend a work experience placement or amend your college timetable to accommodate work experience.
